Terms of Service

Last updated June 24, 2026.

FocusReader is a hosted reading application provided by an independent developer. By signing up or using the app, you agree to the following.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything that happens under your account. Don't share your account with people who haven't agreed to these terms.

Your content

You own everything you upload. You grant us a narrow license to store, parse, and display your files back to you — we don't use them for anything else, including training AI models. You're responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Don't upload copyrighted material you don't have rights to.

Acceptable use

Pricing and refunds

Free plan: 3 lifetime uploads, no card required. Pro: $4.99/month or $39.99/year. We process payments via Razorpay. If something goes wrong within 14 days of your first Pro charge, email us — we'll refund you, no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds are case-by-case but we err on the side of yes.

The app is not a medical device

FocusReader is an accessibility and productivity tool. It is not a diagnosis, treatment, or therapy for ADHD, dyslexia, or any other condition. If you suspect you have a learning or attention condition, a qualified clinician matters far more than any app.

Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime but can't guarantee it. Stuff breaks. When it does, we fix it as fast as a one-person team can.

Liability

The app is provided "as is." To the maximum extent allowed by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or any loss exceeding the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months.

Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove features. We try not to break things you depend on, but the product is evolving. Major changes that affect Pro subscribers get an email heads-up.

Termination

You can cancel your account anytime. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms (after a warning, except for clearly abusive behavior).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
